Hello there, Jueun here. Thank you for visiting my website :)
My name is 강주은 Jueun Kang, you can call me
“Ju-eun”(pronounced like the month “June”). Passing my birthday on October 13th last year, I have now officially devoted first half of my life time in South Korea and the second half in America. As a poly-spirited wanderer, my home searching journey continues in the midst of integrating my fragmented identities. Ironically enough, the 17 years old tongue tied Jueun had nothing but the stage and brilliant writers’ carefully crafted words to protect herself. Initiated as my safety net, this spark of curiosity of “acting” led me to train Theatre Performing Arts at Interlochen Arts Academy and earn BFA in Acting at Syracuse University. During my college years, I honed my passion to observe the essence of human beings, the evolving relationships within society, and the diverse techniques to embody our emotional system and language. After graduation, I discovered a new gear to engage with audiences by starting my own experiments. I began crafting superficial elements by hand, using them to translate experiences into a synesthesia form. I employ visual arts, soundscapes, text, movement and cinematic elements to orchestrate immersive experiences. My practice invites the audience into a portal fantasy of resistance, welcoming them as guardians of their own sanctuaries. Inspired by Korean folk theater, Changmugeuk and Clowning, I embody a slow, dissonant folkloric rhythm and unlock my uninhabited wilderness, reimagining nostalgia as a quest for reconnection, transforming it from a pathological symptom into a powerful tool for self-care and security.

︎ STATEMENT
Creation for me is the only transparent and heroic time that is allowed to myself. My devoted heart belongs to seeing the universe anew and reshaping the textures of reality. Rooted from my personal epic, I hope to be always present with the metamorphosis of life, witnessing the coincidences, miracles, or dissonances within the collective human experience and that every journey I invite becomes a healing sanctuary and community for alienated souls.
